recycle mobile phones

How much money will we raise by recycling mobile phones?

We assess and grade each mobile phone handset individually so that we can give you the most accurate price possible. The price will depend on the make, model and condition of your phones. If you are not completely satisfied with the price then we can send the phones back to you free of charge.

How do you pay us for our mobile phones?

There are two options for payment. To have the payment made to your company, please send us an invoice. Alternatively, you can nominate one of the following charities to receive the funds:

  • Australian Conservation Foundation
  • Cancer Council
  • Cerebral PalsyAlliance
  • Cystic Fibrosis Australia
  • Doctors Without Borders
  • Engineers without Borders
  • Head Space
  • Jane Goodall Institute
  • Lort Smith Animal Hospital
  • McAuley Community Services for Women
  • Mission Australia
  • Motor Neurone Disease Association (NSW, SA, VIC & WA)
  • Oxfam
  • The Children's Hospital at Westmead
  • Westcare
  • Westmead Children’s Hospital
  • Zoos Victoria - They're Calling On You

What happens to the mobile phones we recycle?

We assess each phone individually to ensure the best environmental outcome for each handset. Most of the phones we collect are still in working condition so we can extend their working life and sell them for reuse. Our priority is to reuse mobile phones because it reduces the need for raw materials and energy used in manufacturing new products. If mobile phones or their parts cannot be reused then over 90% of their materials can be recycled.

Do we pay for postage?

No matter the situation, at PhoneCycle we make sure you aren’t covering the costs of transferring your phones to us. For 10 or more mobile phones we organise a free courier collection or if you have less than 10 phones you can send them to us over the post with our reply paid label.

Do you accept old or broken mobile phones?

We want to keep as many phones out of landfill as possible, so we accept mobile phones in any condition.

Do you recycle anything other than mobile phones?

We are able to recycle anything that holds a sim card or any of the accessories that come with mobile phones. If you are looking to recycle landline phones, computers, dishwashers or any other electrical appliances we suggest you check out Recycling Near You and fill out the form on the left of the page to find a service that suits your needs.

What happens if we have confidential or sensitive information on our phones?

We encourage everyone to recycle their mobile phones rather than destroying them or putting them towards landfill. PhoneCycle has a free data clearance service, we even provide you with a certificate to keep on file.

What locations can you collect old mobile phones from?

We can arrange nationwide courier collections

Can we donate to a charity of our choosing?

Yes you can! At PhoneCycle we are passionate about helping the planet in as many ways as possible, and we know that everyone has a cause close to their heart. If you want to donate to a charity we are not yet registered with just let us know and we will return the funds to you so that you can donate to the charity personally. If there is a charity you think we should work with let us know.

What if my phones have no value?

Even if your phones are assessed as having no residual value our service is always free. We will still recycle them for you and provide you with a Certificate of Recycling to recognise your environmental responsibility.

This sounds great, how do I sign up?

There is no sign up process or contract with PhoneCycle. We prefer to make connections with our clients and touch base with them to organise collections once you are ready to recycle. If you would like to start that process now just click here.
